Our Politics and International Relations with a Year Abroad degree equips students with expertise in domestic politics—such as political theory, elections, and parliaments—and international relations, including security studies and conflict. It explores intersecting topics like environmental politics, global political economy, and international development. Swansea's program ranks 6th in the UK for teaching and 3rd for student voice (NSS 2023), with 92% of graduates employed or in further activities 15 months post-graduation (HESA 2023).The course begins with compulsory modules on core themes, progressing to specialized options in areas like contemporary moral controversies and international security. Students undertake a year abroad between their second and final years, enhancing skills through global partnerships. It includes a unique Parliamentary Studies module with Westminster visits.
