About the course

Our Medical Pharmacology degree explores the science of drugs and medicines, their effects on living systems, and their role in treating diseases. You will study diverse topics including toxicology, chemistry, genetics, reproductive biology, physiology, immunology, pharmacogenomics, neuroscience, and drug development. Gain a solid foundation in drug development science, while developing analytical, project management, and experimental design skills. The curriculum, delivered through compulsory and optional modules, allows tailoring to your interests, career goals, or postgraduate plans, and follows British Pharmacological Society guidance. Led by Programme Director Professor Lisa Wallace, a former Society Vice President and current Trustee, the course provides access to state-of-the-art Medical School facilities and laboratories.As part of the ‘Medical Science in Practice’ Pathway to Medicine, successful completion with minimum Graduate Entry Medicine requirements guarantees an interview for our MBBCh programme.
