About the course

In this BSc programme, you will explore the chemical processes occurring within living organisms and examine cellular functions at the sub-cellular and molecular levels. You will acquire a comprehensive understanding of biochemical processes in living organisms, with a focus on animals and humans. The programme will equip you with strong project management skills, including the design of experiments and planning of work programmes. You will have access to cutting-edge research facilities at the Medical School, featuring bioanalytical tools such as HPLC, gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, DNA and protein analysers, and computer-based image systems for molecular and cellular studies. As a Pathway to Medicine programme, successful completion—provided you meet the minimum entry requirements for Graduate Entry Medicine—guarantees an interview for our flagship Medicine (Graduate Entry) MBBCh course.
