About the course

The BA in Media and English Literature at Swansea University integrates practical media skills with in-depth exploration of literature and writing, fostering diverse career paths. Set on the picturesque Singleton Park campus overlooking Swansea Bay, this four-year programme offers specialist modules in areas such as creative media, journalism, film, public relations, and media theory, alongside a broad study of literature from medieval to contemporary times, including poetry, gender studies, and global narratives. Students engage with modern media techniques like radio production and digital marketing, supported by top-ranked teaching—Media is first in the UK for student satisfaction (Complete University Guide 2024)—and facilities including a film studio and connections to literary landmarks like the Dylan Thomas Centre. The third year includes a study abroad opportunity in destinations such as the USA or Singapore, enhancing cultural awareness and employability. Taught by renowned academics, researchers, and industry experts, the programme features extracurricular activities through societies and culminates in optional modules and a dissertation.
