About the course

The 4-year BSc in Health and Social Care with Applied Practice extends the standard 3-year degree by incorporating a year of industry experience, enabling students to gain practical exposure in health and social care settings, build confidence, and develop real-world skills. This flexible, broad-based programme explores topics such as social policy, public health, epidemiology, psychology, human biology, physiology, law, ethics, equality, and social justice across national and international contexts. Students will acquire a strong understanding of UK health and social care structures and policies, along with essential communication, research, and analytical skills, all within a vibrant learning environment at Wales's largest provider of healthcare education.The curriculum includes modules like Academic Development, Professional Development, and Foundations in Human Anatomy in Year 1; Evaluating Research Evidence, Health Law, and Reflective Practice in Year 2; and Counselling, Global Perspectives, Law and Ethics, Management, and Psychology in Year 3. Assessment methods encompass lectures, workshops, essays, presentations, exams, and practical tests, with access to academic mentoring and support services. This course does not award Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
