About the course

Our BSc in Business Management with Human Resource Management suits students keen on the human aspects of business, from traditional HR to leadership and high-performance organizations. It covers essential business and management topics while addressing legal and ethical HR challenges, and strategies for aligning skills with organizational needs across public, private, and voluntary sectors. Students will undertake a year abroad between their second and final years, enhancing skills through global partnerships. Accredited by the Chartered Management Institute and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, the program offers top-tier teaching at Swansea University's Bay Campus, with final-year projects collaborating with real businesses to boost employability.The first year includes seven compulsory modules like Marketing, Human Resource Management, and Operations Management, plus one elective. Later years mix compulsory and optional modules, such as Project Management or Digital Marketing, culminating in a major project with group and individual assessments. Assessment methods vary, including business reports, group presentations, and reflective logs, fostering research, analytical, and communication skills. What you will learn

Your first year of study is made up of 7 compulsory modules covering key elements of Business Management. Compulsory modules are studied by all students on the programme, meaning you are automatically enrolled. Examples of compulsory modules include: • Marketing • Human Resource Management • Operations Management First year students must also choose 1 elective module to complete their year's teaching and learning. Students on some of our Business Specialism pathways will have this elective module built into their programme, therefore will have it selected for them. Your second and fourth years will comprise of a mixture of compulsory and optional modules. The split between compulsory and optional choice will depend on the Business specialism you have chosen. Examples of optional modules in recent years have included: • Project Management • Application Development • Lean Operations • Digital Marketing • Sustainable Tourism Your final year will include a large compulsory project for all Business Management students, including both group and individual assessment, further preparing you for the world of work.
