About the course

This programme offers an introduction to Business and Commercial Law, including a year abroad for international experience. Students gain foundational knowledge in core areas such as Contract Law, Criminal Law, Land Law, Equity and Trusts, Tort, and Public Law. As studies advance, options include Trade Law, Media Law, Commercial Sales, Competition Law, and Employment Law, preparing graduates for careers in law or related fields, including pathways to the Solicitors Qualifying Exams or Bar training.The curriculum features compulsory modules in the first two years, a year abroad in the third, and flexible optional modules in the fourth. Assessment includes exams, essays, client advice letters, blogs, posters, and group tasks, fostering research, analytical, and communication skills. Swansea University's Law School provides top facilities, work placements, and experiential learning, with rankings of 12th in the UK for Teaching Quality (Times Good University Guide 2024) and high graduate employment rates. What you will learn

"Your first year of study is made up of compulsory modules covering a range of themes. Compulsory modules are studied by all students on the programme, meaning you are automatically enrolled. Examples of compulsory modules include: • Public Law • Law of Tort • Contract Law • Legal System and Skills In your second year you will study a mixture of compulsory and optional modules. Your third year will be spent studying abroad at one of our partner institutions. Your fourth year will comprise totally of optional modules from a wide range of subject areas, with over thirty options to choose from.
