Biomedical Engineering, BEng (Hons), with study abroad

Biomedical Engineering applies engineering principles to the human body, advancing personalised future healthcare. Our degrees focus on three themes: biomechanics and materials for strength and biocompatibility; instrumentation for advanced diagnostics and therapies; and bioprocesses involving physical and chemical bodily functions. This programme equips you with engineering skills, knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and clinician communication, plus analytical tools to solve medical device challenges, preparing you for rewarding careers in design, manufacturing, and beyond—laying foundations for Chartered Engineer status.Study amid a vibrant research community, including the Biomedical Engineering Simulation & Testing (BEST) Lab for idea development from concept to testing. Accredited by IMechE and IPEM for Incorporated Engineer registration (full) and Chartered Engineer (partial), the course offers Year in Industry or Abroad options.
