Video Games Art and Design, BA (Hons)

This course specializes in the art and design of video games, emphasizing the development of creative and critical skills in storytelling. Students will explore innovative areas of social and immersive gaming while acquiring essential business skills to build successful careers in the creative industries. Offered by the Department of Media Arts within the Centre of Digital Creativity, the program fosters interdisciplinary collaborations between arts and science students.In a lab setting, participants work alongside computer science and electronic engineering peers to understand the interplay of hardware, art, design, software, and narrative. From examples like Angry Birds to the Avengers, the course examines how games integrate with other media to form franchises across platforms. It extends skills into digital media production, including social media, animation, visual effects, and experimental forms, while collaborating with professionals like directors and animators to realize game concepts for broader industry applications.
