Equine Science and Business, BSc (Hons)

The equine industry significantly contributes to major global economies as the second-largest rural sector, actively seeking talented graduates. In the first year, all students undertake common modules, then specialise in the second year across equine science and business, agriculture, or thoroughbred/bloodstock pathways. The programme includes industry visits, expert guest speakers, and, for bloodstock students, a trip to a leading Irish racing business. Graduates have secured roles at esteemed organisations like Plusvital Equinome, Haygain, Tattersalls, and The National Trainers Federation.Students benefit from a mix of practical training and academic learning, including a second-year work placement that connects them to a robust industry network. Placements at companies such as Godolphin, Weatherbys, and NAF offer valuable experience. The course culminates in a research project, where students can focus on science or business, with opportunities for publication in academic journals.
