This course offers hands-on experience in producing television shows using state-of-the-art facilities, including a virtual production studio. Students will explore various genres such as drama, documentary, and entertainment, working both in-studio and on location. They will develop skills in creating multi-platform content, scripting, and pitching to editors. Key modules include Television History and Analysis, TV Production and Technology, Producing and Directing for TV, and Professional Practice.Taught by industry experts through practical and theoretical methods, the program prepares graduates for careers in television, such as producer, director, or editor. Facilities support creative exploration, and assessments are coursework-based, with Year Two contributing 20% and the final year 80% to the degree mark. Optional modules and a placement year enhance employability.

We have an option for all of our students to undertake a placement year (Sandwich) and allow you to decide whether this is right for you once you have completed years 1 and 2 of your course. This time spent working in industry provides our students with crucial work experience, which is highly prized and much sought after by employers upon graduation. If you are successful in securing a placement you will have the chance to gain an additional Certificate or Diploma in Professional Practice, dependent on duration.
