About the course

Property development and planning are essential to the property industry's growth, covering aspects from scheme proposals and site analysis to design, viability, finance, and marketing. This course prepares students to add value to land and property as future advisers, consultants, or developers, providing comprehensive knowledge in spatial and urban design, site appraisal, sustainability, and development management. It also emphasises business planning, client care, negotiation, and core surveying skills. The program is triple accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), and Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE), marking the first step towards Chartered status. Key features include industry-facing projects with partners like JLL, a one-year placement for practical experience, professional facilities, and study visits to destinations such as Madrid and Berlin. NTU ranks in the top 3 in the UK for Land & Property Management (Complete University Guide 2023) and achieves 100% graduate employment or further study (Graduate Outcomes Survey 2020/21). Modules span professional skills, valuation, planning, and a final-year research project.
