About the course

Today's paramedic is a highly skilled healthcare professional delivering high-quality urgent and emergency care in diverse, dynamic environments. This role is central to the evolving NHS, with paramedics expanding into new areas. Upon completing this three-year BSc (Hons) in Paramedic Science, graduates are eligible to register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as paramedics. The programme comprises 120 credits per level across three years, covering foundational topics in Year One (e.g., Foundations of Paramedic Practice), advanced skills in Year Two (e.g., Pharmacology in Practice), and specialised areas in Year Three (e.g., Dissertation).Assessment includes practical methods like OSCEs in simulated settings, practice observations, e-portfolios, case studies, reflective accounts, presentations, posters, essays, exams, simulated meetings, and moot courts, ensuring comprehensive evaluation of competencies.
