What you will learn

In Year One, you will study: Mathematical Methods (20 credit points); Introduction to Numerical Methods (20 credit points); Data Analysis (20 credit points); Introduction to Abstract Algebra (20 credit points); Vector Algebra and Calculus (20 credit points); and Investigations in Analysis (20 credit points). In Year Two, you will study a number of Mathematics modules, as well as a year long education module which includes a work-based placement. Core modules include: Differential Equations & Modelling (20 credit points); Numerical Methods for Ordinary Differential Equations (20 credit points); Probability and Statistical Inference (20 credit points); Linear Algebra and its Applications (20 credit points); Advanced Calculus (20 credit points); and Learning Mathematics: Pedagogy, Progression and Practice (20 credit points). In the final year of your study, you focus on you developing an in-depth knowledge of the pedagogical skills, assessment requirements and self-reflection required to be a successful Early Career Teacher: Learning to be a teacher; Learning to teach; Learning to teach a subject 1; and Learning to teach a subject 2.
