Starting in September 2024, the School of Arts and Humanities, including this joint honours Linguistics and Media degree, will relocate to our City Campus. The course content remains unchanged, and applicants should have received an email regarding any potential impacts.This programme equips students with essential skills for today's employers, focusing on language analysis and media studies. In Linguistics, you'll explore how language shapes meaning, conduct research, and study topics like clinical linguistics and gender without prior knowledge required. Media components offer theoretical and practical modules on industry aspects such as advertising and journalism, fostering critical analysis and work experience. Graduates develop strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities, leading to careers in social work, broadcasting, and more, with 100% of Linguistics joint honours students employed or in further study within six months (DLHE 2016/17).
