Building Surveying, BSc (Hons), with industry placement

Building surveyors advise the property and construction industry by identifying defects and recommending maintenance and repair options. They contribute to new building developments and the restoration of existing properties across residential, commercial, industrial, leisure, and heritage projects.This course fosters expertise in architectural styles, building history and techniques, element evaluation, and material performance. Students learn to test building aspects, advise on adaptive reuse, supervise remediation and refurbishment, and apply health and safety regulations. Key features include triple accreditation by RICS, CIOB, and CABE; live projects with firms like Faithful+Gould and Gleeds; optional one-year placements at companies such as Baily Garner; and study visits to cities including Madrid and Berlin.
