Studying linguistics reveals how language shapes identity, evolves, structures itself, and is acquired and used. Our department delivers cutting-edge research directly into teaching—from forensic linguistics and accent mapping to describing endometriosis pain—fostering relevant learning enhanced by strong local, national, and global networks for studies and employability.After year two, opt for a placement or study abroad (extending to four years, subject to restrictions). Include modules in French, Spanish, Modern Standard Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, or Japanese to boost communication and cultural awareness.
