Educational Psychology, BSc (Hons)

Educational psychology explores how labels, individuality, and emotions influence children's identity and learning. This field draws on psychological theories, real-world experiences, and social-cultural contexts to understand child development and education. At Manchester Metropolitan University, we collaborate with partners across Greater Manchester to deliver a vibrant course that applies psychology to key areas like school readiness, inclusive practices, and health. Students cover core British Psychological Society topics in an educational context, gaining practical skills through placements, research projects, and the Living Lab.This three-year, BPS-accredited degree equips students for chartered membership by emphasizing real-world applications, including how wellbeing affects learning. Features include expert teaching from active researchers, hands-on skill development, placements in schools, and comprehensive student support, fostering independent research and addressing social challenges.
