Our History BA (Hons) degree is developed through an innovative consultation process with students and delivered by award-winning historians. It covers the period from 1600 to the present, with a focus on the modern era, encompassing Britain, mainland Europe, and regions like North America, the British Empire, Soviet Russia, South Asia, Australia, and China. The curriculum begins with broad survey courses, progresses to studies of specific countries or themes, and concludes with specialized case studies. Assessment methods include a variety of formats, such as source analysis, autobiographical entries, historiographical debates, individual and group presentations, and creative or public history projects. All students complete a final-year dissertation on a chosen topic, and those undertaking a third-year abroad experience may earn a Diploma in International Studies.
