About the course

This design-led course, based in the prestigious School of Architectural, Building and Civil Engineering, builds your understanding of engineering principles for application in architectural design projects. Architectural Engineers blend architecture's creativity with engineering's rigor to oversee sustainable building processes from concept to construction, integrating environmental design and structural engineering for iconic, resilient structures.Students engage interactively with environmental, structural, and architectural design, merging traditional topics like building materials, mechanics, physics, and systems with humanistic subjects via integrated projects. Industrial insights come through site visits, study trips, and contributions from leading practitioners. The BEng (shorter by one year) suits early career entry or MSc specialization, with transfer option to MEng after year two. The MEng deepens competencies via major projects, automation methods, and building-environment interactions.
