Filmmaking, BA (Hons)

This filmmaking course at Leeds Beckett University provides a comprehensive foundation in the craft, fostering independent thinking and technical expertise in drama, documentary, and experimental production. Students develop storytelling skills through creative and technical training, including directing, cinematography, screenwriting, editing, and sound. Guided by industry-experienced tutors, participants explore audience engagement, ethical responsibilities, and a range of disciplines to refine their unique voice as filmmakers.Based at the Northern Film School in Leeds, the program offers access to state-of-the-art facilities, such as a Dolby Atmos cinema, digital equipment, studios, and post-production suites. Recognised by ScreenSkills, it equips graduates for screen industry careers through collaborative learning and strong regional ties, including links to Yorkshire's creative sector and Channel 4's headquarters.
