About the course

Our Bachelor of Orthoptics (Honours) program emphasizes clinical experience to equip you for a successful career as an orthoptist. You will study the anatomy and physiology of the eye to gain a deep understanding of vision and visual function, while learning to assist individuals with eye disorders such as strabismus, eye diseases, and low vision.Clinical placements begin in your first year and form a key part of the degree. Through industry partnerships, you will access hands-on experience in hospitals and private eye clinics, where you will master specialized technologies like retinal cameras and ultrasonography machines. In your final year, opportunities include placements in regional Victoria, interstate, overseas, or even in developing countries.
