Heriot-Watt University ranks second in Scotland and twelfth in the UK for European Languages, as per the National Student Survey 2014. An impressive 84% of students report overall satisfaction with the programme, while 85% secure employment or further study within six months of graduation, with 90% of those in professional or managerial roles.In the third year, students spend one semester studying abroad at a partner institution and the other on a British Sign Language (BSL) placement in the UK. Graduates who complete all programme requirements can register as full members with the Register of Sign Language Interpreters through NRCPD, the UK's national body, and SASLI.
