Teacher education at Griffith has a focus on wellbeing and inclusive education, ensuring you enter the classroom with the skills to make a difference. Your studies will follow one of the below paths:
- Bachelor of Education (Primary & Early Childhood)
- Bachelor of Education (Primary)
- Bachelor of Education (Secondary)
In line with our belief that education should be for everyone, you'll develop strategies and resources to prepare you to teach learners from diverse academic and personal backgrounds. Throughout your study, you will hone your curriculum planning skills, and build your confidence to design, deliver and evaluate lessons to ensure you graduate as an experienced and capable educator.
Bachelor of Education (Primary)
Our primary education curriculum covers areas such as history and geography, the way language develops and works, mathematics, science and technology, health and physical education, and the arts.You can also choose to specialise in
early childhood education, health and physical education, special needs education, English, mathematics or science.
Bachelor of Education (Secondary)
You'll learn the knowledge and skills to teach students through years 7 to 12 and can choose to undertake studies in two teaching areas, or one teaching area and the Learning Support major (conditions apply to some teaching area combinations). We offer a large range of secondary teaching areas, including:
- biology

- English
- food and nutrition
- geography
- health and physical education
- history
- mathematics
- physics
- psychology
- visual arts.
For Teaching Area Content offered online, ensure you review course information for the most current and accurate details regarding online and on-campus attendance.^ Other teaching area must be Biology, Mathematics or Food and Nutrition.

Benefit from our strong relationships with schools and industry partners, as well as international experiences, if you choose. During your studies, you will undertake 80 days of supervised professional experience, and we have a dedicated placement officer to assist in organising your placement.
Meet your maths prerequisite
Ready to study a teaching degree at university but don't have the maths prerequisite? Successfully completing
Griffith's Bridging Maths for Aspiring Educators course will meet your subject requirements for entry into our education degree-and you could start your studies in the next available trimester. This course is delivered over six weeks in on-campus and online modes.
