The BA Media & Communications at Goldsmiths integrates media practice with communications theory, offering a broad range of critical perspectives and contemporary practices. Ranked among the world's top departments for media, communications, and cultural studies, it balances critical thinking and creativity with 50% of the curriculum dedicated to theory and 50% to hands-on skills. Practice modules are led by industry professionals in TV, film, journalism, audio, photography, scriptwriting, illustration, interactive media, animation, and campaigning. Forward-thinking theory explores topics from artificial intelligence to race and technology, using industry-standard facilities including TV/film studios, radio, photography suites, and editing/animation tools.Students benefit from optional work placements with dedicated support, a diverse international cohort, and transferable skills for media or other careers—recent graduates include TV producers, podcasters, teachers, and researchers. Note: applications are accepted only for first-year entry.
