About the course

The BSc Games Development programme at Goldsmiths integrates technical practice and theory to prepare students for thriving careers in the games industry, which generates revenue exceeding that of film and music combined. Students engage in hands-on projects from the outset, gaining skills in programming, game design, and development for platforms like PC and mobile using industry-standard tools. They collaborate on creative projects, explore career paths, and have the option for a year-long industry placement to build experience, networks, and a professional portfolio.Core modules span programming, graphics, and game anatomy in the first year, advancing to C++ and 3D development in the second, with electives like audio for games. The final year includes a major project and additional options. Assessment methods include coursework, exams, group work, and projects, with placement performance evaluated by a tutor for those who participate.
