About the course

This course develops the mindset and practical skills essential for occupational therapy, empowering individuals across all ages to engage in meaningful daily activities that enhance health and wellbeing. Occupational therapists collaborate with people, groups, and communities to promote participation in self-care, productivity, and leisure, while fostering critical thinking, advocacy, and cultural humility. Key elements include professional placements (requiring at least 1000 hours of supervised practice), exploration of digital technologies, and eligibility for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council and membership in relevant bodies. The curriculum spans modules on professional foundations, community engagement, and future leadership, assessed through methods like case studies, coursework, and presentations. It emphasizes diversity, multidisciplinary teamwork, and lifelong learning, preparing graduates for rewarding careers in dynamic health settings. Financial support is available for eligible students.
