About the course

This integrated degree combines the study of 20th-century comparative politics and political ideas with modern global, political, and social history, focusing on Britain, Europe, and America. It explores historical issues such as conflict, poverty, marginalised communities, the environment, and gender to deepen understanding of contemporary socio-political challenges and decision-making processes. The program fosters engagement with vital global questions through a vibrant, internationalised learning environment, including opportunities for field trips, a year abroad, or work placements. The course features a common first year for broad exposure, followed by specialised modules in years two and three, covering topics like modern British espionage, the history of Europe, and political ideologies. Assessment includes essays, presentations, reports, and projects, preparing students for professional success. Key benefits include enhanced knowledge of British and global history, with options for placements to build practical skills.
