Politics and a Modern Language, BA (Hons)

At the School of Law and Politics and the School of Modern Languages, our goal is to cultivate global citizens equipped with critical thinking, cultural awareness, and transferable skills through our 4-year BA in Politics and a Modern Language. Students develop advanced communication, critical-thinking, and resilience via immersive language experiences, while exploring political systems, ideas like democracy and power, and international relations across Wales, the UK, Europe, and beyond. The programme offers pathways in Chinese, French, or Spanish, tailored to language proficiency, and integrates study of language, culture, and society.Key features include spending the third year abroad for study or work, alongside extracurricular activities, a structured skills programme, employability options like credit-bearing placements, and strong ties to governments and institutions. Graduates emerge with practical skills in teamwork, leadership, and communication, positioning them well for diverse careers.
