This course offers a strong foundation in modern statistics and operational research, equipping students with essential techniques for efficient decision-making in organisations. Operational research, also known as management science, applies advanced statistical and analytical methods to tasks such as resource allocation, supply chain sequencing, and customer segmentation.The four-year programme builds expertise in mathematical theory, statistical modelling, and simulation to address complex problems. Students undertake a paid placement in their third year with organisations like HM Revenue & Customs, Ministry of Defence, or IBM, enhancing employability and providing practical context. Completing the placement may qualify candidates for the City and Guilds Senior Licentiateship Award. The degree is flexible, allowing switches between mathematics options after the first year.
