Architectural engineers plan, design, build, and maintain structures integral to daily life, emphasizing structural engineering, architectural design, and building services. This accredited programme equips students with essential knowledge, skills, and practical experience through lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, field trips, individual projects, and design classes. Participants tackle real-world engineering challenges and industry scenarios individually or in multidisciplinary groups, fostering teamwork, project management, and communication skills in an open-access makerspace.Distinctive features include interdisciplinary group projects mirroring professional teams; flexible study options with specialisation choices and potential programme switches after year one; accreditation by the Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Structural Engineers, Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, and Institute of Highway Engineers for Incorporated and partial Chartered Engineer status; industry-informed content delivered by chartered engineers; and a strong design focus with hands-on access to studios, labs, workshops, and computer suites.
