This course features a placement year between years two and three. The Brunel Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences (Physical Education, Coaching and Social Issues) BSc is designed for students passionate about physical education, youth sport, community development, and enhancing individual potential in sport and health. It covers sociological, political, pedagogical, and psychological influences on participation, linking these to performance, physical activity, and wellbeing. Students learn to plan, deliver, manage, and evaluate activities from grassroots to elite levels, while addressing social issues like gender, race, religion, and inclusion, alongside historical and philosophical aspects of physical education.Supported by top-tier facilities—including advanced laboratories, an indoor athletics centre, a 400m track, and various sports pitches—students can undertake modules such as Pedagogy & Policy, Introduction to Biomechanics, and Sport Development Issues & Policy.
