Data analytics (Big Data) is a defining 21st-century phenomenon, outpacing traditional data processing and heightening demand for skilled analysts who can collate, interpret, and extract value from complex datasets.This programme equips modern data analysts with essential techniques in mathematics, statistics, data analysis, and computing, addressing real-world business and industry challenges. It fosters key graduate skills like problem-solving and communication through project-based work comprising one-third of credits at each level. In Year 2, students explore neural networks and deep learning—integrating linear algebra, activation functions, gradients, and optimization—building and explaining their own models with practical rigor. The four-year Professional Placement option offers paid placements with blue-chip firms. The programme meets Chartered Mathematician requirements, seeking accreditation from the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, complemented by post-graduation training for QAA master's-level competencies.
