This course examines the intricate relationships between societies and environments central to 21st-century challenges. It covers a broad range of topics, with customizable themes across three years, including urban geography—leveraging our London base and European fieldwork to analyze modern cities' functions and transformations; the postcolonial world and legacies of European colonialism, exploring geography's dual role in supporting and challenging colonial projects; and ecological emergencies with environmental justice, integrating human and physical geography to address Anthropocene changes and solutions.Fieldwork is integral, featuring funded residential trips in years one and two for immersive learning and transferable skills. Graduates gain expertise for professional engagement with current issues, plus analytical and practical employability skills. A four-year option with one or two sandwich placements enhances your CV and career competitiveness.
