About the course

The BSc Computer Science (Digital Media and Games) is a flexible programme equipping graduates with skills to design creative and commercial digital media and gaming applications. Students gain in-depth knowledge of algorithms, programming, testing, system architectures, and development methods, while understanding entertainment software artefacts. The course emphasises reflective project management in team-based development, balancing theory with practical information management. One-third of each year is project-based, including team software builds in Years 1-2, an individual final-year project, and showcasing at the Made in Brunel event with awards from Cisco, Sky, and Xerox. Flexible module choices allow specialisation, with transfers possible between Computer Science, Business Computing, and specialisms up to Year 3 starts. An optional year-long paid placement between Years 2-3 enhances employability, with alumni at Accenture, Microsoft, and Barclays.BCS-accredited, the programme meets requirements for CITP registration, IEng, and partial CEng, enabling BCS professional membership. The department holds Athena SWAN Bronze status, with a Women in Engineering and Computing mentoring scheme supporting female students.
