Visual Effects, BA (Hons)

Our BA (Hons) in Visual Effects merges creativity and technology, equipping you with essential skills in both artistic and technical domains. This programme prepares you for careers in film, TV, games, advertising, architecture, education, and beyond, within a rapidly growing, multi-billion-pound industry. You will develop expertise in modelling, rigging, animation, dynamics, lighting, rendering, and compositing using cutting-edge facilities, including a Vicon Motion Capture studio, high-specification computers, and industry-standard software like Maya, Nuke, and Houdini. Instruction comes from experienced staff with broad knowledge in visual effects and computer graphics, including those with direct industry experience.The course includes an optional professional placement year after your second year, allowing you to gain real-world experience with an employer. This opportunity, supported by the university's extensive employer network and careers team, can enhance your career prospects, with some students securing permanent roles upon graduation. Note that placement year fees equate to 20% of the full-time course fee.
