About the course

The BA (Hons) Fashion Communication is an innovative visual design course that integrates art direction, styling, graphic design, film, animation, photography, journalism, events, and trend forecasting. As an interdisciplinary program, it equips students to communicate fashion in both physical and digital realms through creative storytelling, positioning them as pioneers in the industry. We emphasize developing exceptional craft skills, blending tradition with innovation and sustainability, while addressing global issues like climate change, racial equality, and social justice. Our award-winning curriculum, delivered by industry experts, fosters forward-thinking communicators who excel in teams, individually, or as entrepreneurs, all within a supportive environment that prioritizes personal well-being and pastoral care.An optional professional placement year is available after the second year, allowing students to gain hands-on experience with employers, enhancing career insights and sometimes leading to future opportunities. Students leverage the university's extensive networks to secure placements, with support from careers teams. Upon securing a placement, transfer to the placement version of the course is possible, though fees equivalent to 20% of the full-time rate apply.
