Our BA (Hons) in English and Journalism is designed for those pursuing careers in the fast-paced journalism industry. Delivered in the School of English by renowned academics and professionals, the programme offers a wide array of modules in literary studies, linguistics, creative writing, and drama. The curriculum emphasises building essential knowledge and skills in English, complemented by practical work placements that teach effective storytelling techniques to engage audiences.Additionally, an optional professional placement year is available after the second year, allowing students to gain hands-on experience with an employer. This opportunity helps explore career paths, with some students securing future roles with the same organisations. Supported by the university's extensive employer network and careers services, students must secure a placement to transfer to this version of the course. Note that placement year fees equate to 20% of the full-time course fee.
