Electronic Engineering, BEng (Hons)

Our BEng (Hons) in Electronic Engineering equips students with a broad range of skills to become well-rounded electrical engineers, emphasizing practical experience through access to state-of-the-art technology and optional industry placements. The program covers essential topics such as the social, commercial, legal, ethical, economic, and environmental aspects of engineering, alongside core science and mathematics. Students develop transferable skills like problem-solving, project planning, presentation, and communication, while engaging in project-based activities, team collaborations, and competitions like the annual Engineering Show.An optional professional placement year, available after the second year, allows students to gain real-world experience with employers, drawing on the university's extensive networks. This opportunity has helped graduates secure positions at companies such as UTC Aerospace and Vector GB, with fees equivalent to 20% of the full-time course rate for that year.
