You’ll gain experience in digital and social media content production, moving image content production, post-production, experimental media making, sound design, podcasting, animation, graphic design, project management, pitching, user experience (UX) design, audience research and digital marketing.Immerse yourself in the latest critical thinking and technologies to develop your identity as a professional content creator, and hone your individual voice. Create meaningful and experimental media for different audiences and platforms, making use of our purpose-built production and post-production facilities in Bath and Bristol.Build a professional, industry-ready portfolio by working on live client briefs for a range of digital content and moving image projects.In your final year you'll join our professional production company Artswork Media, located at Paintworks in Bristol, where you’ll work on a rich variety of projects producing multi-platform content for a range of exciting clients. Previous clients have included Bristol Old Vic, Glastonbury Festival and Boomtown Festival.You’ll also get the chance to produce and exhibit your own distinct final project to highlight your particular voice as a practitioner. Past students have gone on to show their final projects at Cannes Film Festival, have produced animation work that secured them jobs at Aardman Animations, and won the Royal Television Society (RTS) West of England Student Award.
More about the Professional Placement YearA Professional Placement Year (PPY), traditionally known as a sandwich year, is where you undertake a period of work with an external organisation for between 9-13 months. The placement occurs between your second and final years of undergraduate study. You can engage in up to 3 placements to make up the total time and are required to source the placement(s) yourself, with support from the Careers team.
