About the course

This programme enables you to examine the social and psychological processes shaping contemporary childhood and youth, covering topics such as behaviour, biological influences, and individual factors in human psychology. It prepares you for diverse careers in teaching, social work, counselling, and law, where you can positively impact young lives.Childhood and Youth Studies and Psychology complement each other, offering a balanced joint honours degree (50% each) that explores child development from biological and psychological perspectives, including education, peer interactions, and wellbeing. The psychology component investigates behaviour across the lifespan, while the childhood studies element addresses history, rights, and global contexts. Options for a placement year or international experience year are available, with further details on the university website.
