About the course

The Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design, offered by the Department of Art in the College of Arts and Sciences, requires formal admission upon completing foundation courses with grades of C+ or better, including COMM-330 Principles of Photography, GDES-200 Visual Communication Design, GDES-210 Typography I, and GDES-220 Digital and Emerging Media Design I. Applicants must also complete 120 credit hours with a 2.00 GPA, plus university requirements in writing and mathematics. General education includes ten courses across five foundational areas, with at least one lab science in the Natural and Mathematical Sciences.Major requirements total 54 credit hours with grades of C or better, including 24 of the last 30 hours in residence and a senior-year portfolio review. Students select one of two tracks: Print Media or Experience Design and Multimedia, each comprising 33 credit hours of required and elective courses in areas like typography, digital media, and art history. Opportunities for internships, independent study, and combined bachelor's/master's degrees are also available.
