About Falmouth

Falmouth is a vibrant and welcoming community, and the University is home to over 5,000 students. Our campuses are places where people work together, across disciplines and departments, to create exciting new ideas, projects, products, and solutions. Our Student Union offers more than 100 clubs and societies and opportunities to get involved with volunteering.

Falmouth University has a history of almost 120 years, but its future-focussed courses, world-class facilities and industry-connected staff mean that it is at the cutting-edge of the Creative Industries. We do things for real at Falmouth, so students get real hands-on experience while they study. With an emphasis on impact and innovation, Falmouth’s students, alumni, and staff are working on exciting projects.

There aren’t many universities that have a campus only a five-minute walk from the beach. Further afield, Cornwall’s stunning natural environment offers the sort of beauty that has been inspiring creatives for generations. Our two stunning campuses are set in beautiful gardens, equipped with world-class facilities, and offer great spaces for learning and socialising.

Subtropical gardens and light-flooded studios make Falmouth Campus a haven for creative practice. With a lively creative community, impressive facilities and a library packed with resources, it’s the perfect space to share and develop your skills.

What's more, just a few steps from the town centre and a short stroll to the shores of Gyllyngvase beach, inspiration is never far from reach. Here are some amenities near our campus.

Standing proud above Penryn town and just a short hop away from the vibrant community of Falmouth, Penryn Campus’s architectural innovation, outstanding facilities and state-of- the-art technology make it the ideal place to ignite your academic fire.

Playing home to courses covering a spectrum of disciplines, from design and media to performance and writing, Penryn Campus sees students and staff gather to think, work, create and share – a collaborative melting pot of ideas and opportunities which are sure to challenge and inspire.
