More about Nursing & Health Science
If helping the sick and informed is your calling but you do not have the aptitude or patience to go thru medical school – perhaps nursing is your thing. Nurses evaluate, diagnose, and treat health problems. They help people meet basic health needs, adapt to physical changes, recover from illness, and at times, die with dignity. Nurses are employed in clinics, hospitals, schools, corporations, the military, and in private practice.
Studying Nursing and health will allow you to specialize in areas such as looking after – adults, patients with learning disabilities, mental health or children. Your studies will be hands-on with clinical rotations at hospitals and other health care facilities
Whatever course of study that you choose, you will graduate with both an academic and professional qualification allowing you to practice. At the end, you will learn what is needed to assist doctors and help patients and families with their healthcare needs. You will receive patient reports, treat patients, and administer everything from medications to endotracheal suction procedures.
While this is a challenging course due to the multifaceted amount of theory and practice involved, rest assured that you are studying to enter a profession that is in huge demand and probably much appreciated by the patients that you will look after.
