Electrical engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study of and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. The study is concerned with the basic forms of energy that run our world. Whether it's gas, hydro, turbine, fuel cell, solar, geothermal, or wind energy, electrical engineers deal with distributing these energies from their sources to our homes, factories, offices, hospitals, and schools.

While you study Electrical Engineering some of the challenges that you may be called on to solved may include finding new sources of energy, developing more efficient ways to transmit that energy, develop new electronic devices and/or circuits to control machines.

Alternatively, learn about new ways to transmit and receive signals with regard to voice, picture, and computer data. Electrical Engineers are constantly challenged to move large amounts of data effectively, finding better ways to convert signals to digital form and processing them through digital systems to get the desired output, developing new materials for high frequency transistors and for fiber optic communications; lasers, optical amplifiers, detectors, and switches.
