Industrial Design, BEng (Hons)

China leads global design innovation, producing creative, ingenious products that reshape markets. The BEng Industrial Design at XJTLU equips students for this landscape through a curriculum blending studio practice, advanced technology, and human-centred design. Industry-aligned and research-led, it emphasises project-based learning on real-world challenges, technology, creativity, and human behaviour. Hands-on in state-of-the-art studios, Fab Labs with 3D printing, laser cutting, and prototyping tools, it fosters sketching, prototyping, and testing. The holistic approach covers social, cultural, commercial, and sustainable dimensions, led by international experts with global partnerships. Internships build professional experience and design identity.Studying at XJTLU offers experiential project-based learning in China's manufacturing hub, from a multidisciplinary team; collaborations and internships with industry partners; Suzhou's multicultural blend of high-tech and heritage; and dual degrees—a Chinese Ministry of Education-recognised XJTLU qualification plus a University of Liverpool degree from the UK's Russell Group.
