In an era dominated by screens of all sizes, video has become essential for personal enrichment, global understanding, storytelling, information dissemination, and emotional expression—forming the cornerstone of culture, entertainment, and society. The BA Filmmaking programme equips students with these core skills through a practice-focused curriculum emphasizing creativity, narrative excellence, AI, and VFX for digital moving images. Covering film appreciation, aesthetics, screenwriting, shooting, production, marketing, and theory, it provides hands-on experience in roles like creative producer, director, screenwriter, cinematographer, sound designer, editor, VFX artist, and global marketer.Unique as China's sole Sino-foreign film production programme, it awards dual degrees: one from XJTLU (China's Ministry of Education) and one from University of Liverpool (Russell Group). Fully English-taught with international staff, it offers top facilities—including studios, green screen, motion capture, grading/mixing suites, and 4K cinema—plus Avid/Pro Tools/DaVinci Resolve certification via SoFTA. Industry partnerships with Beijing Enlight Media and Hengdian World Studios enable research, internships, and practical opportunities.
