Our BA explores the ancient Greek and Roman worlds, their Mediterranean interactions, and modern legacies, blending history, politics, and culture from the Bronze Age to today. Delivered by experts, it emphasizes women's and gender history, cultural history of death, and classical influences in contemporary society, fostering intellectual independence, integrity, and cultural literacy.Year 1 introduces key themes through multidisciplinary sources in history, literature, mythology, philosophy, archaeology, and art. Year 2 examines the discipline's evolution, covering Athenian democracy, Alexander the Great, the Roman Republic/Empire, and modern museum interpretations. The final year features a dissertation, advanced research, and specialized topics like gender/sexuality, Pax Romana, popular culture, and ancient death rituals. No classical languages or prior study required; the program prioritizes student development and well-being.
