The BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care degree equips students with a critical understanding of integrated health, social care, and wellbeing systems, while developing practical skills in practice and management. This qualification, available full-time or part-time, includes at least one placement for real-world experience, enabling graduates to address key societal issues like mental health, substance use, and domestic abuse. It prepares individuals to support vulnerable groups and opens doors to respected careers in the sector.The course offers flexible routes chosen at the end of Year 1, including a broad focus on health and social care topics, a health and wellbeing emphasis on public health issues like inequalities and ethics, or a management and leadership track covering team dynamics and project management. Integrated with Criminology, it provides expanded options in social sciences. Teaching involves workshops, lectures, and group work, with assessments through projects, presentations, and tests, supported by one-to-one academic guidance. Note that this course does not award Qualified Teacher Status.
