About the course

This BA in Psychology explores the full spectrum of human behaviour, including how we learn, remember, coordinate actions, and interact with others. It delves into theories of cognitive differences, the biological foundations of memory, emotion, perception, and more, while examining the influence of neuropsychology and social environments on thoughts and behaviour. Accredited by the British Psychological Society, the course is ranked 3rd in Scotland (The Times/Sunday Times University Ranking 2024) and includes practical work placements for real-world experience. As part of the flexible BA Humanities and Social Science Degree, students can select from humanities, social sciences, and business subjects, with the BA typically lasting three years and the Honours degree four. This structure supports exploring new areas, building knowledge, and enhancing employability. Note that the course does not award Qualified Teacher Status, and applicants should submit only one UCAS code for any subject combination. Work placements in the third or fourth year provide valuable professional skills.
